Walking the Rounds
I’m currently reading “The Soul’s Slow Ripening: 12 Celtic Practices for Seeking the Sacred” by Christine Valters Paintner. It’s such a beautiful resource for anyone yearning for a slower, more intentional spiritual path. Rooted in the wisdom of Celtic tradition, it offers practices that invite us to deepen our connection to the sacred in everyday life.
One practice that deeply resonates with me is “Walking the Rounds,” which involves engaging in circular, contemplative movement to connect with divine rhythms. In this chapter, she mentions walking the rounds at holy wells—those ancient, healing sites that have been places of prayer and pilgrimage for centuries.
As I read, I can’t help but think of the holy wells we’ll visit during the Ireland retreat in May. Coupled with a labyrinth walk at Saint Brigid’s Retreat Center, it promises to be a truly transformative experience.
Maybe this is your time to walk the rounds and rediscover the sacred rhythms of your own life?
