Sacred Time

In this new season of my life, what I cherish most is the opportunity to slow down and truly be. After years of overwork, relentless busyness, and putting everyone else’s needs ahead of my own, I’m finally tending to my nervous system—allowing it to rest, repair, and recalibrate.

This shift has opened up space for the things that nourish me on a soul-deep level: savoring the quiet joy of reading, allowing my thoughts to wander into deep contemplation, listening to calming music, and leaning into meaningful connections with friends. I’m rediscovering how to pause and drink in the wonder of nature.

I recently came across a line in Sacred Time: Embracing an Intentional Way of Life by Christine Valters Paintner that resonated deeply with me:

“Sacred time is time devoted to the heart, to things that matter, to wonder and beauty, to catching glimpses of eternity.”

This season feels like an invitation to step into that sacred time—to embrace what truly matters and to let go of the constant push for productivity. It’s not always easy. Sometimes, the cultural drumbeat of “more, faster, better” still echoes in the background, tugging at me. But I’m learning to quiet that noise and listen instead to the gentle wisdom of my heart, which whispers: this slowing down is sacred.

This isn’t just about rest; it’s about reimagining life. It’s about making space for wonder and beauty. If you’ve been feeling caught in the rush, maybe this is your invitation too—to carve out sacred time and let yourself be restored.
