Making the Unconscious Conscious
As has often been said, unless we make the unconscious conscious, it will direct our life and we will think of it as fate.
In order to avoid suffering, we develop coping mechanisms. Unconscious patterns lead to numbing with alcohol, drugs, food, busyness, isolation, social media, television, or other methods of distraction. We will do anything to avoid negative emotions.
If you don’t want to stay stuck in old habits and patterns, you have to be willing make the unconscious conscious.
To become conscious of the stories we’ve told ourselves, and the beliefs we formed around those stories, is the key to breaking generational patterns and changing our behavior.
It is when we face our past that we break into higher levels of consciousness.
It is the most important work we can ever do.
