Love, Not Fixing

You cannot fix people. You can only love them.

This simple yet profound truth feels especially relevant in a world where helping is too often mistaken for fixing.

As I’ve been reading Greg Boyle’s “The Whole Language: The Power of Extravagant Tenderness,” I’ve been deeply moved by the beautiful stories he shares of gang members being transformed by the power of love and community. These are not stories of people being “fixed” but of lives being healed through loving connection and tenderness.

Boyle reminds us that love isn’t about rushing in to save someone or imposing our vision of how their life should look. It’s about being present, standing alongside them, and affirming their unshakeable goodness—the foundation for genuine transformation.

Today, let’s let go of the need to fix others. Let’s choose love—open-hearted, unhurried, and free of expectations. Because love, not fixing, is what ignites true change and brings about the beautiful revolution we long for.

Who in your life needs love, not fixing, today?
