Be Happy
Some happiness habits:
1. Smile – Smiling causes the brain to release dopamine, which makes us happier.
2. Exercise – Exercise can help reduce feelings of stress and anxiety.
3. Get plenty of sleep – Most of us need about 7 or 8 hours of sleep every night.
4. Make good food choices – Highly processed foods can affect our mood. Choose wisely.
5. Practice gratitude – Think about all the things you are grateful for.
6. Breathe – Deep breathing sends a message to our brain that all is well.
7. Hydrate – Being properly hydrated helps our brain and body function at its best.
8. Declutter – Set aside 15 minutes each day to declutter. Toss or give away anything that is not useful or does not bring joy.
9. Connect with friends – Find like-minded people and get together to chat and do activities together.
10. Spend time in nature – Research shows that spending time in nature can lower blood pressure and help with depression.
11. Practice self-care – Put yourself on your calendar. Do things that you love to do, such as reading, watching a movie, or taking a hot bath.
12. Therapy – We should not deny or repress difficult emotions, such as anger, sadness, fear, guilt, shame, etc. If we get stuck in one of these emotions, we should reach out for help.
